A ‘unhinged’ man who brutally murdered five family members in a horrific bloodbath, more details have emerged.
Reports have revealed that the alleged killer, Christopher Gotore, was arrested after attending the funeral wake of his victims.
Unaffected by what was going on, he allegedly arrived at the funeral and attempted to light a fire to roast some fresh maize cobs before he was apprehended.
After the grisly killings, Gotore is reported to have disappeared into the night only to appear the following day.
Upon his arrival, he is alleged to have asked for matches from mourners saying that he wanted to roast some mealies. He was then arrested by police officers who were still present at the crime scene.
‘He was arrested by police who were present at the funeral wake and was expected to appear in court yesterday,’ claimed a villager who spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity.
Police have confirmed the murder and currently investigating the possible motive for the killings. The bodies of the deceased were expected in Lusulu yesterday evening ahead of burial today, villagers said.
The deceased were identified as Admire Nyangavarayi, Shan Sibanda, Chiravingwa Shumba, Bibeat Munsaka and one year old, Loice Compassion Sibanda.
