President Peter Mutharika has ordered the Malawi Defence Force and Malawi Police Service to use all necessary force to stop a joint MCP, HRDC, Youth and Society Thursday demonstration.
He comanded them during a rally yesterday in Chikwawa at the launch of the multi-billion kwacha Shire Valley Transformation Program that demonstrations are not human rights but destruction of the country.
He praised his party followers for demonstrating peacefully in Blantyre, Zomba, Lilongwe and Mzuzu where he claimed they did not pelt even a single stone.
He also took a swipe at Amnesty International for attacking him and his government for arresting human rights defenders Timothy Mtambo, Gift Trapense and Rev. Macdonald Sembereka.
He further made a claim that the United Nations had complained that Sembereka and Trapence misused their funds.
