MZUZU – Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has announced that people in Mzuzu will March to day to demand the release of three HRDC members Mtambo, Trapence and Sembereka.
“Today, Thursday 12th March,2020 Mzuzu takes its turn to take to the street in what is dubbed as #SolidarityMarch to demand the release of the three Rights Defenders.” Announced HRDC on its Facebook page
“The March will be led by the outspoken Human Rights Activists, Charles Kajoloweka of Youth and Society, Happy Mhango ,Northern Regional Chair for HRDC and Moses Mkandawire of the Church and Society of Livingstonia.” Added the announcement
Similar marches have been cancelled in Lilongwe by the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and the HRDC to pave way for the court to make ruling on the bail hearing application which began yesterday.
