Japanese Deputy Ambassador to Malawi, Hirotsugu Ikeda, has today presided over a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a 36-bed maternity wing at Nsipe Health Centre in Ntcheu district.
The project is to the tune of 60 Million Kwacha, to construct a maternity wing at the health center which will provide proper pregnancy care with safe and clean rooms for delivery.
Nsipe Health Centre in Ntcheu and Kapalamula Primary School in Dedza are the beneficiaries of the grant.
Last month, the Japanese government also provided a grant of K120 Million towards improving access to health and education in Malawi.
