Dedhia, a resident of Wadala met the complainant on a dating app after their profiles matched. The two started talking and on March 12, the duo spoke on the phone to each other. During the conversation, Dedhia sounded decent and asked the woman to meet him in Chembur on a date.
At around 10.30 pm Friday, the woman met Dedhia at a resto-bar in Chembur. After a brief conversation, Dedhia suggested that they go to a pub located in Bandra. The woman agreed to accompany Dedhia. Dedhia and the woman drove to Bandra in his sedan car. The two reached the pub at around 11.30 pm.
Dedhia’s behaviour altered after he consumed beer at the Bandra pub, The Times of India reported. He allegedly started getting close to his date, making her uncomfortable. As the woman was not comfortable with Dedhia’s behaviour, she told him that she wanted to return home.
At around 1 am on March 14 on Saturday, the two of them left the pub and the woman said that she would go home on her own. Dedhia, however, insisted on dropping her and asked her to trust him. Following this, the two of them stepped into Dedhia’s car and started driving towards the woman’s home.
After some time, Dedhia pulled the woman closer to him and started kissing her. The woman tried to resist but the accused did not stop. Dedhia continued to touch the woman and allegedly tried to lift her clothes. The woman excused herself on the pretext of going to the washroom and when Dedhia stopped the car, she fled from the spot.
Dedhia allegedly followed the woman in his four-wheeler. The woman saw a cop standing outside St Teresa’s Church and approached him. When Dedhia noticed that the woman was talking to a police officer, he sped from the spot.
