Just in : Mutharika Fires Kutsaira, Sanga as DPP regional governors

LILONGWE – President Peter Mutharika with powers conferred to him by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Constitution has chopped Regional Governor for Central Region Bintony Kutsaira and his counterpart for North Kenneth Sanga with immediate effect from today 18th March , 2020.
The President has since replaced the two with David Kambalame for Centre and Christopher Mzomera Ngwira for Northern Region.
However, the President has maintained Southern Region Governor Charles Mchacha.
The shake up comes ahead of Fresh Presidential Elections as the party is attempting to keep up with MCP and UTM in the regions after losing ground in 2019 Tripartite Elections.
