United Transformation Movement (UTM) president Saulos Chilima has urged Malawians to register, vote and safeguard their votes in the forthcoming presidential fresh elections.
Chilima said this on Thursday during the alliance signing ceremony at Kamuzu Institute for sports in the capital Lilongwe.
According to Chilima this is the time to make change for the betterment of Malawi citizenry.
The state vice president added that the country is ruled by people not witches as stipulated by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey.
During DPP rally in Blantyre at Njamba Freedom Park Jeffrey said a female witch is far more dangerous than a male wizard thus sending a warning to Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) leaders.
Chilima has also said MCP and UTM alliance is not a personal alliance that is meant to benefit only a few.
“It’s not an alliance about regions or tribe or one that aims at protecting someone from court cases, it’s an alliance for all Malawians and for the benefit for all Malawians.” Chilima said.
