There was a corona virus scare at the Golden Peacock hotel in Lilongwe yesterday after some Chinese national was reportedly isolated for incessant coughing.
But Lilongwe DHO officials who went there late in the evening Wednesday say they checked on three Chinese nationals – a couple and another man.
Authorities have announced that the Chinese nationals tested negative to the virus.
The Coronavirus scare in Lilongwe came barely hours after the Zambian government confirmed registering two cases of coronavirus.
Meanwhile the ministry of health has set out measures control the spread of the virus into the country.
Some of the measures include that the schools should not be receiving international visitors without notifying the ministry.
The Ministry has urged pupils and learners to avoid body contact when in class and to always wash their hands.
