A minibus driver has won K20 million in the Extra numbers premier Lotto with a K200 stake in Blantyre.
The winner, a 33 year old Mission John was plying between Blantyre and Ntcheu in Limbe Township.
According to John, he decided to play Lotto while waiting for the bus to get fill up as part of his daily routine.
While in the agent’s shop, he discovered that one of the numbers, 6, on his ticket had won him the cash, marking the end of his toiling under the scorching sun as a conductor.
Getting his money on Wednesday, John said he will use the man to construct a good house for him.
“At first I thought it was K20, 000, but when I checked properly and discovered that it was K20 million, I didn’t believe it. I will use the money to build my decent house and buy a minibus so that it should be a reminder that I once worked on the door as my office. My life has completely changed,” he said.
The father of two boys, John is the first winner of the Extra Rapid numbers which is just 14 days old.
Sam Chibambo, Premier Bet marketing manager said they were happy for John and that they have produce a winner in a just few days.
“We encourage our fans to continue playing the games. As we say, these are just games meant to entertain the people as they win big to change their lives. More games are there, with the suspension of football games, our customers can still come to play these other games and win big,” he said.
