Former Speaker Henry Chimunthu Banda has turned down President Peter Mutharika by rejecting a ministerial position

On Thursday night the Office of President and Cabinet (OPC) announced a 32 cabinet.

Chimunthu-Banda was appointed Minister of Natural resources and Mining.

In an interview with the press, the former speaker could not say why he turned down the offer but says he only learnt of the appointment on radio.
