If you are an ardent viewer and listener of public broadcaster Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) you certainly might have watched him doing kalondolondo program and nzeru nkupangwa.

The name is none other than Dyson Gonthi, a presenter for national television and radio broadcasting station (MBC) some years back.

Gonthi is celebrating 50 years of anniversary for his family life on may 2, 2020 in Machinjiri Township at Namilango school hall in Blantyre.

Gonthi from Kasiya village traditional authority Chiloko in Ntchisi district is married to a retired primary school teacher Polina Sakhani who comes from the same district.

He says he thought of having anniversary cerebration so as to set a good example for young generation and posterity about family life.

Gonthi said marriage is a long-life commitment hence partners need to spend ample time knowing each other before making vows on the alter.

“I am a family man. We are having this anniversary as part of our family cerebration but mostly importantly to set good example for young generation that in the mess of family breakdown,” explained Gonthi.

Popularly known as Nkoko Ogona, Gonthi has since worked for ministry of local government as evaluation officer before joining Malawi News Agency (MANA) where he has worked as a journalist in 1990s.

He has also worked for Malawi Broadcasting Corporation from Dr.Hestings Kamuzu Banda’s era, Malawi’s first black president as an editor on Chichewa desk. Lately, people have also seen him as a story teller in various local radio stations and televisions.
