Government has expressed dismay with High Court Judge Kenyatta Nyirenda’s order that released four Chinese nationals who were quarantined upon arrival at Kamuzu International Airport last Tuesday.
The four are said to have been quarantined, pending processing of their return tickets.
According to a statement released by government, the Chinese nationals were being deported and quarantined as a precaution in the wake of coronavirus.
“Government finds Judge Kenyatta Nyirenda’s order disturbing and short of patriotism as he has undermined local and global efforts to protect lives from the virus”, reads part of the statement, signed by government spokesperson Mark Botomani.
