The Tobacco Commission (TC) says the country has a new tobacco buyer Voedsel from Zimbabwe bringing the total number of tobacco buyers to nine.
TC Chief Executive Officer Kaisi Sadala disclosed the development during a media briefing in the capital Lilongwe.
According to Sadala, the coming in of VoedSale will enhance competition on the market.
Meanwhile TC has suspended the opening of the tobacco marketing season due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
