The office of Ombudsman has written the state broadcaster over allegations of discrimination against its former employ Ian Simbota.
Simbota, who is also the president of Association Persons with Albinism (APAM) complained to the office of Ombudsman via a letter that authorities at the tax funded media house used to ill-treat him due to his condition.
The letter compels the Director General of the MBC to give a response on the allegations by April 10, 2020.
Simbota was fired at MBC for fighting against albino attacks in the country.
Simbota confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official Facebook page seen by Faceofmalawi reporter.
“Kuwala sikungawandikane ndi m’dima. I knew I would be fired & I said already to myself & my people that.
“Winners don’t quit & I will not because am a winner. This is just the beginning,” wrote Simbota.
Simbota is a person with albinism who fights for the welfare of his fellow persons with albinism who face abductions, killings and torture.
