
Interns Threaten to Strike in Kasungu Due to Lack of Protection Amid Covid-19 Fears

At least 65 interns at Kasungu district hospital have threatened to down tools due to lack of protection as the coronavirus scare rages on.
The workers who are set to withdraw labor include clinicians, physiotherapy technicians, laboratory technicians, nurses and midwifes who are under locum, relief, upkeep, internship and volunteers.
In an interview, Chairperson of the grouping Steven Smart –said they have decided to take the action since they don’t have benefits that would cover them in-case of contracting the virus in the line of duty.
There is however no case in Malawi but precautionary measures are still being undertaking as the outbreak spreads across the world and the South African region.
