Reports reaching Face of Malawi are indicating that Mangochi District Health Office (DHO) is following up on five people as suspected cases of the deadly coronavirus.

Three of them are from Monkey bay and include a senior politician and health personnel.

There are fears that Mangochi can be a hotspot of the disease due to people who frequently travel to South Africa and Mozambique where cases of the virus have been confirmed.

Up to date Malawi has not recorded any case of the global pandemic corona virus which has caused panic all over the world.
