India – With the ongoing 21-day lockdown in view of coronavirus pandemic is proving hard for some beings,In another shockin incident,A 40-year-old man attempted suicide after he allegedly failed to get liquor in Telangana.

The incident took place in Renuka Nagar town of Siddipet district of Telangana on Monday. Police said the man tried to electrocute himself with a live wire of an electric transformer.

According to a report in Times of India, the man identified as Yadagiri is a habitual toddy drinker and was suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

The police immediately rushed the man to a hospital after they were alerted by local residents attending a funeral nearby.

“We were informed about the incident at Bara Imam Chowrasta early morning at around 6 am. The man entered the transformer enclosure after passing the fence. He then started punching the fuse box of the transformer. After this, the people nearby a graveyard immediately cut off the power supply using a baton. The power supply to main line was also stopped by electricity officials,” said a police officer. 

Later, the cops took the man into custody. Police say the accused consume toddy and liquor on a daily basis. “

“After he could not get the liquor due to lockdown, the man attempted to end his life on Monday by trying to catch hold of the liquor,” said the Inspector Saidulu.

Police say the man has suffered minor burn injuries on his hands and is getting treated at a local hospital. Police have not filed any case in this regard.
