3-year-old boy intervenes after stepfather assaults mother; thrashed to death
A man in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh allegedly thrashed his stepson to death on Sunday. The incident took place within the limits of the Kurnool 4 town police station. The accused has been identified as Farooq.
Farooq works as a construction labourer and is a resident of Weaker Section Colony. Around six months ago, Farooq became friends with a married woman on social media platform Facebook.
Soon after they started talking, the woman divorced her husband and moved in with Farooq. The woman’s 3-year-old son, identified as Jhulsi also moved in with Farooq.
On Sunday night, Farooq and the woman were having an argument, during which, he allegedly assaulted her. On seeing his mother being subjected to assault, the minor boy allegedly tried to rescue her.
The minor boy hit Farooq with a stick when he saw his mother being attacked, The Times of India reported. Farooq allegedly lost his temper after he was attacked and started raining blows on the child.
After being canned severely, the 3-year-old child collapsed and fell on the ground. The minor boy was immediately taken to the government general hospital where was declared brought dead.
After the incident, the police registered a case against Farooq and sent the child’s body for a post-mortem. Farooq has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
