Mzuzu City has effected a 5 hour operation of drinking joint in the city as a prevention measure of the threat by coronavirus.
The city’s mayor councilor Brian Kondwani Nyasulu made the announcement at civic offices on Thursday.
He says drinking joints will only be allowed to operate from 2:00PM to 8:00PM.
In a related development, Blantyre City Council has completely banned all social gatherings including opening of bars.
Meanwhile, Malawi has not registered any case of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
