Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and United Transformation Movement (UTM) have faulted the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) for proceeding with electoral activities despite the court battles to have commissioners out of office.
Meanwhile, five presidential aspirants namely Peter Kuwani of Mbakuwaku Movement for Development (MMD) and Shaibu Mustafa of New Vision for Development Party have collected their nomination papers.
Others include independent candidates; Ras Chikomeni Chirwa, Smart Swira and also Aniwale Phalira.
But in an interview MCP Publicity Secretary Reverend Maurice Munthali has faulted the electoral body for continuing with electoral activities.
According to Munthali MEC could have waited for the out-come of the courts ruling where MCP and UTM are challenging the legality of the current MEC Commissioners.
