34-Year-Old Man Arrested for Defiling 13 Year-Old Girl In Dowa

Police in Dowa have arrested a 34-year-old man on allegationthat he defiled a 13-year-old girl on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Chidyamayani Village.
Sub Inspector Gladson M’bumpha, Dowa Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) has identified the suspect as Patrick Dinala from Chidyamayani Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chiwere in Dowa.
“It is reported that the victim and the suspect live in the same village and on the day of the incident, the suspect coaxed the victim to sleep with him for K500 after the act.Taking advantage of the absence of the victim’s parents, the suspect dragged the victim to his house and forcefully defiled her.” Said M’bumpha
“It is alleged that after the suspect finished the act, the victim went home and reported the matter to her mother who in turn reported it to Mvera Police Post.
The victim was issued with a hospital referral form for examination and treatment at Mvera Health Centre where it was proved that the girl was indeed defiled.” He disclosed
M’bumpha said the suspect was immediately arrested and will appear before court soon to answer a charge of defilement.
