Umodzi Party leader Professor John Chisi has said that he is not moved by some disgruntled members who intend to join the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
The members are saying that they were not consulted about the decision to make political alliance with United Transformation Movement (UTM) and the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
The UP leader said it is their right to do so since we are living in a democratic country where everyone has the right to join any political party or movement of his or her choice adding that even the constitution guarantees that freedom.
One of the disgruntled members who refused to be named said they were not consulted about their president decision saying that they just heard it on the radio during a rally held by Vice President and leader of UTM Saulos Klaus Chilima at Njamba Freedom Park in Blantyre.
He said they are currently in the process of consulting others on what to do and they will let everyone know at the appropriate time.
