Information reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that Zomba District Council has suspended Internship Services with immediate effect.
The suspension follows President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s directive to all parastatals to decongest workplaces in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
“Following the Presidential directive to decongest workplaces in light of COVID-19 pandemic, I write to direct that your services as Intern with Zomba District Council is suspended with immediate effect.
You are hereby ordered not to report for duties 7th April, 2020, and you will be further advised when it will be necessary for you to get back to work,” reads in part MEMO signed by Dr. Raphael Piringu, District Commissioner.
