Blantyre District Health Office (DHO) has asked the Asian Community to adhere to quarantine measures if the spread of coronavirus is to be contained in the country.

Blantyre DHO, Dr. Gift Kawalazira confirmed to the media during an update session on Wednesday that they are investigating the cases.

“Just earlier this morning, we had a meeting with leaders of the Asian community and the police to sensitize them on the need to adhere to the quarantine measures since the cases recorded here are from their side,” he said.

Kawalazira said now their concern is on the safety of the health workers such that they have an isolation unit for the personnel at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.

Meanwhile, Blantyre DHO is tracing 61 people suspected to have been in contacts with the woman who died to Coronavirus in Limbe Township on Tuesday.
