The Malawi government handed over bodies of two Mozambicans who were killed in Karonga on a suspicion that they were blood suckers.

The two and the other one who escaped, were on a transit to Tanzania on a business trip.

The two were killed at Pausi trading centre in the district.

A Mozambican official Paul Sebastian, traveled to Karonga to receive the bodies.

Myths of blood suckers have grown in Malawi but the Malawi Police Service has dismissed the claims saying they are unfounded.

In the past three weeks, people in the northern region of Malawi have lost there lives while others beaten due to blood sucking myths.
