The Blantyre District Health Office is dismissing rumours that people who are under institutional quarantine at Kameza move out of the place to buy food.
The rumours raised fears of the spread of coronavirus, as those in quarantine are not supposed to move around unnecessarily.
Speaking to journalists, the District Health and Social Director Gift Kawalazira stressed that such people are under strict watch of medical personnel, support staff and security guards.
Kawalazira also explained that their families provide food for them or pre-arranged by a company that supplies food to health workers at the facility.
He said those at Kameza quarantine stay there for less than two days just to wait for laboratory results.
