Citizen for Transformation Movement (CFT) leader Timothy Mtambo has for the international community to intervene in the calls for President Peter Mutharika to fire Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) commissioners.
Mtambo, former Chairperson for the Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) made the appeal during a media briefing in the capital Lilongwe.
According to Mtambo, the current MEC commissioners led by its Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah are not supposed to preside over the fresh Presidential polls.
Mtambo has since called on all Malawians to reject Presidential poll results on elections presided over by the current MEC Commissioners.
Turning to Coronavirus pandemic, Mtambo has alleged that the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is using the COVID 19 situation to frustrate the fresh Presidential election.
