Lawyer for Dr. Saulos Chilima in the Presidential appeal case, Chikosa Sulungwe has asked the Supreme Court to order President Peter Mutharika to fire MEC Commissioners within 7 days after it makes its judgment.
Sulungwe said this during his submission in the he appeal case which President Peter Mutharika and Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) filed against the Constitutional Court Judgment.
In his submission, Sulungwe said should Mutharika defy the order, the Commissioners should automatically be deemed fired after the ultimatum.
He went further by saying “Malawi is not anybody’s farm.”
Meanwhile lawyer for second respondent Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, Senior Counsel Modecai Msisha is currently holding the floor.
