The state vice president Saulos Chilima has cautioned government not to copy everything that is being done by other countries in the cause to fight Covid-19.

Yesterday President Peter Mutharika declared a 21 day lockdown to contain the spread of Coronavirus.

Chilima, who is also the president of United Transformation Movement (UTM) said there is a need to consider those who stay in remote and location areas before making such decisions.

“Don’t just copy and paste what others have done. This is Malawi,” Chilima said.

Meanwhile, Malawi has registered 16 cases of Coronavirus, with two deaths and 14 active cases.
