President Peter Mutharika has urged Malawians to fully comply with the preventive measures that have been placed to fight Coronavirus.
Mutharika made the call yesterday when he addressed the nation.
According to Mutharika, the measures that have been put in place are there for the good of the country.
Yesterday Malawi declared a 21 day lock-down as one of the measures to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
“I would like to urge you to fully comply with the measures because they are for the good of our country,” Mutharika said.
Citing examples form other countries, Mutharika stressed on how people are losing lives over the pandemic.
“Currently, Malawi has suffered 2 deaths. As I speak, the United States of America has lost over 23,000 lives. Italy has lost over 20,000 people. The United Kingdom has lost over 11,000 lives,” he said.
