Police in Mulanje arrested a man suspected to be a cattle rustler.

Deputy police spokesperson in Mulanje, Sergeant Blessings Gama, has identified the suspect as Brahim Pochere.

According to Gama, Pochere is alleged to have stolen a high breed cow valued at K130, 000 whose owner is Linje Gremu.

“It is alleged that Pochere approached and offered a cow for sell to another man, Brenton Mmero, and he promised to bring the cow at night. The prospective buyer became suspicious,” said Gama.

Gama said Mmero alerted community policing members who ambushed and apprehended the suspect as he was bringing the cow at night.

The suspected confessed before the police that stole the cow from his neighbor, Linje Gremu.

He is yet to be charged as investigations continue, according to police.
