Traditional leaders, Ward Councillors and other officials in Dedza have agreed to ban foreigners from accessing medical treatment at the district hospital and at health centres along the border.
Dedza District Commissioner Emmanuel Bulukutu said after a full Council meeting Wednesday that the decision has been taken to prevent the foreigners, mainly Mozambicans, from putting the locals at risk of contracting the Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Dedza local leaders have agreed to make sure that the foreigners are not using uncharted routes to enter into the country.
