Malawi government  has recruited 755 health care workers to help in the fight against corona virus.

President Peter Mutharika announced that the country would beef up its health personnel with 2,000 staff to reduce the strain on the current workforce.

According to Secretary for Health Dan Namarika they have also recruited 30 laboratory officers and technicians,30 pharmacists, 26 pharmacy technicians, 16 radiography technicians and 49 hospital attendants.

“The public is further informed that as part of the continuation of the recruitment process, interviews will be conducted in all the District Councils by the Health Service Commission and Local Government Service Commission from 22nd April, 2020,” he said.

Malawi has recorded 17 cases including two deaths from COVID-19.
