Information reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that Doctors, Clinical officers and Nurses at the Kamuzu Central Hospital in the capital Lilongwe are staging a sit-in.

The strike is aimed at forcing the Ministry of Health to respond to their grievances including on provision of Personal Protective Equipment, the raise of the risk allowance, transportation, and creation of a safe working environment.

A visit at KCH hospital Faceofmalawi reporter saw health workers just hovering outside the hospital premises with others chanting.

In a related development, health workers at Nkhata-Bay District Hospital and Karonga District Hospital are also staging a sit-in.

The health workers are demanding Personal Protective Equipment in the work of COVID-19 pandemic.
