An Administration Police (AP) officer on Tuesday this week, April 14, died in his girlfriend’s house.
Police Constable James Irungu Njoroge attached to Nairobi Railway Police station died shortly after spending almost 10 hours with his girlfriend.
Police say the officer visited his girlfriend at Tena Estate in Buruburu on Monday, April 13, at around 10pm.
The two spent good time together until the morning of the following day.
“It was reported that one namely PC James Irungu Njoroge attached to Railway Police had died in his girlfriend’s house at Tena Estate,”
“It was established that the deceased who lives at Kasarani visited his girlfriend Doreen Nkirote. He was in jovial mood and spent good time together,” police said in a statement filed at Buruburu police station.
The two woke up on Tuesday, April 14, at around10am where Nkirote went to take bath.
Upon coming back from bathroom, she found the officer unconscious and immediately called the Red Cross ambulance.
The ambulance responded immediately and Njoroge was rushed to a nearby health centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body of the officer has been transferred to Kenyatta University mortuary awaiting a postmortem and preservation.
