The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) has condemned the killing of two people suspected of being bloodsuckers in Nkhotakota.

The two were killed at Sani Mountain where they went for night of Prayers on 19 April 2020.

Nkhotakota Police Public Relations Officer, Williams Kaponda confirmed of the development on Monday.

In a statement posted on its official facebook page, CCJP said the grouping is deeply shocked with the killings of the two.

“The Commission condoles the two families that were killed in Sani Nkhotakota. They went to pray at a certain hill but were taken for blood suckers. The Commission continues to condemn such barbaric acts,” reads in part the statement.

The deceased have been identified as Benedicto Jason Kantchere (41) of Chikango village in the area of T/A Mwansambo and Dickson Gwirize, (age not known) of Tongole village in the area of T/A Mphonde all from Nkhotakota district.

Meanwhile the law enforcers have launched a manhunt of the people suspected to be behind the killing of the two.
