Malawi has not registered any Covid -19 case for the past two days, development means the number of confirmed covid -19 cases remain at 17, including two deaths.
Chairperson for the Special Cabinet Committee on Covid – 19 who is also Minister of Health Jappie Mhango said this during a press briefing in Lilongwe on Monday afternoon.
According to the Minister, three people who tested positive for the coronavirus on 2nd April in Lilongwe have all recovered.
” Out of the 17 total cases, 12 patients are still under observation but they are well with very mild symptoms and some without any symptoms at all,” clarified Mhango.
The Minister has also provided details of a person who recently tested positive for coronavirus at the College of Medicine Lab in Blantyre.
His details were not handy at the time the Minister shared details of three recent confirmed cases. The man is a 39 year old Zomba resident.
He returned from the United States of America late last month on the 23rd March.
The US is one of the marked hotspots for the global health pandemic.
Meanwhile, Mhango has disclosed that government has effected an upward adjustment of risk allowances for health workers following consultations with various stakeholders on the issue.
