Presentation of nomination papers by presidential aspirants in the fresh presidential polls is set from this Thursday to Friday.
According to the electoral calendar by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) the fresh polls are slated for July 2, 2020.
The activity will be followed by approval of the names of the contestants, then publication of the names.
These will then be followed by the official campaign launch on 26th April, a period spanning until 1st June.
These however come when MEC announced a halt in its voter registration exercises and when, the court has ruled that there will be no extension to the calendar as the Commission wanted the 150 days order extended.
Meanwhile, two presidential candidates are expected not to appear on the ballot following electoral alliances that have been signed.
There is also a heightened Covid-19 fear in the country with people asked not to be in large gatherings.
