As various countries continue to apply strict measures to fight the spread of coronavirus and one of it being effecting a lockdown, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church on Tuesday donated assorted items in Rustenberg, South Africa.

The South Africans are on lockdown and recently President Cyril Ramaphosa extended the lockdown by 14 days pilling more pressure on citizens.

Due to this development Bushiri was left with no option but to reach out to people affected by the lockdown in Rustenberg.

ECG Public Relations Director Ephraim Nyondo confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook.

“Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and Prophetess Mary Bushiri were in Rustenberg, South Africa, on Tuesday afternoon continuing with their charity work in response to COVID-19 pandemic.

“They were welcomed by the premier, like a governor, of North West Province Professor Job Mokgoro, ANC Provincial Cordinator and four heads of government department in the province,” reads part of the statement.

He added: “The power couple handed over several assorted packages of relief food and health that will benefit over 100 families.

“This is just part of initiative the Prophet is doing not just in several parts of South Africa but in, so far, 14 countries across the 47 countries where ECG Church operates in the world.”

South Africa has recorded over 3000 cases of Covid-19 with over 5o deaths.
