First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s motorcade was on Friday involved in a fatal crash in Muzarabani, Mashonaland Central province, that killed at least one of her security officials.

Three others are reported to have been critically injured and were immediately airlifted to Harare for treatment, reports reaching iHarare have revealed.

The First Lady is reported to have escaped unscathed, online publication Zimmorningpost can confirm.

According to the publication, the fatal crash occurred after one of the cars in motorcade developed faulty breaks.

The car, which was immediately behind the First Lady’s vehicle then swerved and overturned after reportedly trying to avoid crashing into the First Lady’s car.

The fatal crash happened whilst the First Lady was on her way from offering assistance to the disadvantaged people living near Zimbabwe’s border with Mozambique.
