President Peter Mutharika has apologized to churches in Balaka after police officers disperse congregants on Sunday in the district.
On Sunday, the law enforcers dispersed worshipers in the district as a way of preventing further spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
Presidential advisor on Religious Affairs Timothy Khoviwa said the president is sending his apologies to the affected churches.
Khoviwa added that meanwhile, there are no restrictions of prohibiting church gatherings.
So far Malawi has registered 36 Covid-19 cases including 3 deaths and 4 recoveries.
