Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has said it is not ready to meet president Peter Mutharika to discuss issues that are affecting the country.
This follows Mutharika’s remarks which he told Public Affairs Committee (PAC) that he is ready to meet with leaders of opposition.
Mutharika said he want to discuss with his fellow leaders on the future of the country after the Supreme Court of Appeal gives its verdict on the pending presidential appeal case.
In his remarks, MCP Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka said it is too late for Mutharika o be seeking an audience with opposition party leaders.
However, PAC publicist Bishop Gilford Matonga has said they will engage leaders of the opposition to hear their side on the matter.
When discussing with PAC yesterday, Mutharika faulted the quasi religious body for failing to contain violence forthe past 9 months.
