In Washington, women dressed as healthcare workers were caught on camera while stealing packages from outside residents’ homes.
The Kennewick Police Department reported that two women were seen in surveillance videos taking a package off the front porch of a home. One of the suspects was wearing gloves, while both of them were wearing scrubs, making them look like nurses. The women are described by police as suspects in a porch piracy case, as CNN reveals.
In the post, the Kennewick Police Department clearly states they don’t believe the two women are real medical workers.
“The nurses we are fortunate to know only give their time, lives, and take the vitals of their patients (not their property).”
What’s more, one of the missing packages was stolen from the home of a real nurse and a law enforcement officer.
The nurse whose package was taken, Michelle Santiago, who was out working at the time of delivery, shared:
“We have a home security system so I pulled up the videos. I could see the FedEx driver drop the package off around 3 o’clock that afternoon in one video and in (a following) video this woman walks up and takes it less than 5 minutes later.”
Santiago’s package included a customized organizer for her husband’s police equipment. When she saw the footage of their home security camera, she decided to share it with her neighbors. Shockingly, she found out she wasn’t the only victim of the fake nurses. Michelle continues:
“Even if we had been home I don’t know if I would’ve gotten out there fast enough to get the package. She literally grabbed the package minutes after it was dropped.”
On Saturday, May 2nd, the police department shared the images taken by Santiago’s security camera. They hope people will recognize and identify the suspects.
