Zomba City Council employees are staging a strike to force management pay them increments and pension contribution arrears.
The workers are also demanding the removal of Zomba City Council Chief Executive Officer Charles Thombozi, whom they accuse of lacking seriousness in addressing their welfare.
According to Zomba City Council Workers Union President Patrick Manyalo, they wrote the management to raise their concerns and management was yet to respond.
The workers have blocked the main entrance of the city council offices.
Meanwhile, Zomba City Council Public Relations Officer Mercy Chaluma says the management will meet the workers on their concerns.
