Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader Peter Mutharika has assured his followers of winning again the fresh presidential Elections slated for July 2, 2020.
Mutharika who is also the president of Malawi said this this afternoon at Mount Soche when he presented his nomination papers to Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).
Mutharika added that the fresh election is not the will of the people.
He insists that he won May 2019 elections and that the elections in 2019 were free, fair and credible.
“Let me repeat we will win again.” he said.
He says the fresh election is a choice between light and darkness.
Speaking on his choice to pick United Democratic Front (UDF) president Atupele Muluzi as his running mate Mutharika said he needed someone he can work with in untying Malawians.
“I have chosen Atupele Muluzi because I want a person I can work with to unite and build Malawi,” said Mutharika.
He added; “He has shown commitment to continue my legacy. Together we will win this election.”
