India – A a 22-year-old woman lodged a police complaint against her 80-year-old relative accusing him of raping her at his house located at Banjara Hills. So far, police have not made any arrests in connection with the case.
According to the police, the survivor, who belongs to Falaknuma, had recently got separated from her husband and her elderly relative had offered to help her with arrangements for her stay. She, along with a male friend, visited the accused man’s house in the first week of April.
According to Banjara Hills inspector Kalinga Rao, after arriving at the elderly man’s residence, the woman and her male friend were offered alcohol by him. Later, the octogenarian allegedly sexually assaulted her when she was under the influence of the alcoholic drink, reported the Times of India.
The inspector added that soon after the alleged incident, the elderly man approached the police and filed a complaint against the affected woman and her male friend accusing them of stealing his expensive watch. The verification of details of the alleged incident is underway.
Though the incident took place on April 3, the affected woman had approached the police on Friday and a case was lodged against the octogenarian.
In another incident, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday afternoon. The survivor had gone to graze her animals near Rindh river when the accused allegedly caught hold of her and sexually assaulted her.
The affected minor returned home and informed her family members. Local police were informed and girl was sent for conducting a medical examination. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO), Act.
