The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) says correct and relevant information on Covid-19 by the media can save lives, while irresponsible reporting cost lives.
MACRA Director General Godfrey Itai spoke Monday morning in Lilongwe on the sidelines of a training of media managers on responsible coverage of the pandemic.
Itai has noted that some political leaders, using broadcasters, have been misleading Malawians that the Covid-19 pandemic is not real.
Currently, Malawi has registered 53 cases of corona virus with 14 recoveries and 3 deaths.
