Human Defenders Coalition (HRDC) and other human rights organizations are set to obtain an injunction, restraining the current Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) commissioners from  conducting the coming presidential elections.
HRDC asked MEC Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah to resign after the Supreme Court on Thursday last week  found MEC commissioners guilty for failing to manage the 2019 tripartite elections but Dr. Ansah and her fellow commissioners did not resign up to date.
HRDC coordinator Luke Tembo said their organization will work together with other organizations to obtain an injunction for resignation of commissioners.
Tembo added that their organization will urge Malawians from all the districts in the country to conduct demonstrations for resignation of commissioners.
