Minister of Information, Civic Education and Communication Technology Mark Botomani has alleged that opposition member are planning to stop the payment of Malawi Enterprise Development Fund (MEDEF) loans.
Botomani made the allegations in Lilongwe on Friday at a news conference which was also addressed by Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development Joseph Mwanamvekha.
In March President Peter Mutharika launched the program in Blantyre at Mount Soche saying he want to empower the youths and women to be the drivers of change in the country.
At least K13 Billion loan program was set up to help the targeted beneficiaries with capital to create and grow their businesses.
According to Botomani, some opposition members are planning to go to court and take an injunction against the development.
Botomani has however pleaded with the opposition not to stop the loans because the beneficiaries are all Malawians regardless of their political affiliation.
