Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has said it is engaging its lawyers to take a restraining order against Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)-United Democratic Front (UDF) running-mate Atupele Muluzi from using presidential convoy.
Immediately after President Peter Mutharika unveiled young Muluzi as his running-mate in the fresh presidential elections, he (Muluzi) was given presidential convoy same as of the vice president of the country.
The move by government to honor Muluzi with a presidential convoy as he is the state vice president has attracted mixed reactions from people.
According to Trapence, it is wrong to give a running-mate and a minister such an honor reserved for the state vice president is misusing tax payers money.
Trapence has however said that they are seeking for a judicial review on the matter hence to draft a way forward.
